ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hatest nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all them that are penitent: Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we worthily lamenting our sins, and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.


O Almighty God, who willest to be glorified in thy Saints, and didst raise up thy servant Aelred of Rievaultx, Abbot, to shine as a light in the world: Shine, we pray thee, in our hearts, that we also in our generation may show forth they praises, who has called us out of darkness into thy marvellous light; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
