Mothering Sunday

Today in our little cathedral we celebrated "Mothering Sunday." Just as the 10:00 a.m. service started, the dean blessed yellow daffodils and a simnal cake on the altar. Then he passed out the daffodils to all the mothers in the congregation.

After Mass, we had a sumptuous spread of sandwiches, and pieces of the marzipan-frosted simnal cake.
